My First Petits Filous

My First Petits Filous

Motherhood is a journey of firsts.

Moments that you document not only by taking a photograph, but deep in your memory. Moments where you felt a rush of pride as a new milestone was met or skill achieved. It seems to happen so quickly, first smiles soon become first words and first steps and you quickly forget that they were once so tiny and reliant on you.

My first born is now an active, curious and clever toddler. My sidekick, my shadow, my pint-sized best friend – the first person to ever call me Mummy is becoming more and more independent by the day. Now you are a toddler, we have new firsts to explore. In just the past month alone you have done new things – first dance lesson, first time at a birthday party, first go on the big slide, first time feeding farm animals. I promise you I will always try to show you new things, to fill your days with fun and your world with colour. These every-day things we do together are just as precious to me as those ‘firsts’ when you were a baby. You amaze me just as much, too.

In the last month, we have also been trying My First Petits Filous – a new low sugar, vanilla flavour fromage frais. The texture is thicker than normal yogurts, meaning it stays on the spoon and makes less mess! Ted has always adored yogurts and these have been no exception. He has absolutely loved them and can polish off two in no time. These will be great when it comes to weaning Arthur too – I really like the fact that they are lower in sugar and contain calcium and protein to help maintain a balanced diet.

I know we have more firsts to come but no matter how big or small, how every-day or extraordinary they may be, they will always be precious to me.
